Temporary Data Entry Clerk

Assignment Length: 3-4 months
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Pay: $20/hour

Full-time: Mon – Fri, Hours are flexible from 7a-3p, 8a-4p, 9a-5p

 

TEC is helping fill a local non-profit temporary need. The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for data entry for multiple sites and client billing related tasks for: service authorization when applicable, data entry, claim submission and the successful realization of reimbursement.

 

Primary Job Functions

  • Data entry functions including, but not limited to, billable and non-billable service transactions,
  • Data entry of demographic and insurance policy in the billing system

 

Secondary Job Functions

  • Communicates with assigned payers to determine verification of benefits that are applicable to the services being rendered, authorization requirements and behavioral health specific claim submission requirements
  • Utilizes all applicable daily computer-generated reports to verify the completeness and accuracy of claim related data elements, including but not limited to, missing information reports, yesterday proof sheets, authorization status reports, etc
  • Eligibility verification through Mass REVS, the Virtual Gateway and individual carriers when applicable
  • Maintains all billing related files, records and logs when applicable
  • Initiates and tracks all relevant managed care authorizations and re-authorizations when required for assigned payers
  • Accounts receivable data entry and initial data element entry or corrections
  • Explanation of benefit (EOB) retrieval in the event of special, global, or individual accounts receivable projects
  • Performs all billing follow-through functions at designated required intervals
  • Advises billing manager of individual account resolution issues or payer specific claim payment related issues
  • Attends payer-specific billing related trainings as required
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

  • Ability to ensure that task completion is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with all levels of internal staff members, clients and payer representatives

 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma: 2-year degree preferred
  • Proven office experience, preferably in a medical office setting
