Billing/AP/AR Clerk Job

Job Type: Temp to Perm

Salary:   $25.50/hour

Hours:  Mon-Fri 8a-4:30p


TEC is helping a local nonprofit find an experienced Billing/AP/AR Clerk. The ideal candidate will have experience in contract billing, managing state and federal contracts and have experience in the accounting field with nonprofits.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage contract billing and charges/payments for clients
  • Invoicing to state, federal and local entities
  • Follow-up on collections, research and adjusting transactions processed through the AR+ system and creating contract billings 
  • Monitoring, reconciliation and follow-up on residential client accounts receivable
  • Perform all finance functions related to lease subsidy agreements including invoicing clients and payments to landlords, adjustments to transactions based on client's income, applying credits to clients as needed, and collection of refunds from landlords when applicable
  • Coordination and timely processing of client residential billing for charges for care, rent advances, application of payments, coordination with program and representative payee staff on invoices for these clients and follow up collections; and credit transitional housing, permanent housing, and lease subsidy invoices
  • Update monthly client residential billing rosters
  • Create client invoices for Community First Choice (CFC), rent, and permanent and transitional housing
  • Apply client payments to invoices received by cash, check, credit card, EFT, or check
  • Reconciliation of deposits and debits
  • Ensure Group Living Environments (GLEs) clients receive standard of living social security increases around January 1 and that new agreements are created effective February 1
  • Provide back-up support with accounts payable and general accounting positions
  • Assists with documentation and analysis for budgeting and contracting


Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or relevant accounting training required
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required
  • Excellent organization and time management skills required
  • Ability to pass a CORI check required
  • Experience in contract billing and managing state/federal contracts strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years accounting, data entry and office experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in banking or with representative payees strongly preferred
