Laborer Job Opening in Berkshire County, MA

Pay:  $17-20/hour depending on experience
Hours:  Mon – Thurs, 7a-5p
Job Type:  Direct Hire

TEC is helping recruit for a Laborer with a Southern Berkshire County contractor. This candidate can be newer to this arena but familiar with simply processes and be able to learn quickly and safely.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitoring the condition of the work site, performing ongoing tasks such as trash removal, organizing materials, providing materials for fellow employees 
• Ensuring that the job site is always clean, safe and organized
• Organizing and inventorying all items in job trailers and other storage areas
• Sweeping, snow shoveling and cleaning off all staging planks, sanding and maintaining all access walkways to worksite in winter
• Making sure enough time is provided for attend of work-day to thoroughly clean and organize job sight
• Maintaining unobstructed access to first aid kits and fire extinguishers 
• Make sure all safety equipment is on the job site, such as dust masks, hearing protectors, safety glasses, etc. and notifying the Job Supervisor about low qualities of these items
• Assisting Employees and Subcontractors with general labor as directed 
• Open all access barriers and secure storage areas upon arriving in the morning 
• Supply job site with cords, lights sawhorses, tools, machinery and protective covering as necessary 
• Set up tools, staging work areas and machinery in the morning
• Store and secure the same at the close of the day
• Notify the Job Supervisor of any needed tools / supplies needed to replenish the inventory
• Temporarily weather proofing structures and materials as necessary
• Loading / unloading and adequately storing all materials on the work site
• Monitoring an inventory of materials stored on the worksite at all times
• Any other tasks as may be assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Reliable means of personal transportation
• The ability and willingness to report to work punctually
• A consistent, ambitious work ethic 
• A desire to achieve an above average level of quality in all tasks performed 
• The desire to protect a professional, helpful and friendly mannerism to all clients and subcontractors 
• The necessary social skills to interact well and integrate harmoniously with fellow employees
• The ability to recognize and a desire to correct unsafe conditions in the workplace 
• The ability to work with ladders and assemble and disassemble staging
• The ability to perform tasks at heights above ground level 
• The ability to lift / carry moderately heavy to heavy objects 
• The ability to follow through and complete tasks as assignments (this cannot be overemphasized)
