TEC is helping recruit for a SHE Specialist to join a local manufacturing setting. This person is responsible for the supervision of the implementation, control, measurement and follow up of the safety, health, environmental and security programs and policies for locations under strict compliance of legal, corporate and ISO 14001/ISO 45001 requirements to prevent safety risk and environmental impact, always focusing on continuous improvement.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for the supervision and tracking of internal Metrics and Scorecard data upload to achieve or exceed plant and corporate goals for Cultural development.
- Responsible for the supervision of the implementation, control, measurement, monitoring and follow up of the Safety, Health, Environmental and Security Programs and Policies, Injury and Illness Prevention, Risk and Environmental Assessments, Management of Change and all other activities that contribute to the Safety, Health, Environment and Security compliance with the legal, corporate and ISO 14001/ ISO 45001 requirements.
- Responsible for the Supervision of the Coordination and tracking of Incident/Near miss Investigations, Root cause determinations and corrective and preventive actions.
- Responsible for the Supervision, overview and auditing of the usage, handling and disposal of hazardous materials/waste and universal waste accordingly with corporate policies and legal requirements.
- Responsible for the Supervision of the selection of proper Personal Protective equipment and equipment for the protection, prevention and environmental control in the different areas of the plant.
- Responsible for the Supervision of the adequate function of the Safety Committee.
- Responsible of the Coordination of General Safety training, New hire and contractors Safety training.
- Supervise the adequate deployment of Tool Box Topic Trainings, Compliance Training and effectiveness of the training programs.
- Supervise the Tracking of the Associate’s participation, Go-Yield-Stop observations and all other Safety, Health and Environmental Incentive programs.
- Responsible for Supervising Ergonomic evaluations and follow up of corrective and Preventive actions resulting from the evaluations.
- Responsible for the Supervision of adequate Tracking of the Ergonomic Rotation Program.
- Responsible of the follow up of the Workers Compensation activities and Preventive campaigns, Testing, Incident/near miss investigations, injury and illnesses statistics, Ergonomic Program, Communication, Corrective and Preventive actions among others.
- Responsible for the Coordination and follow up of plant’s Emergency Response Plan and Emergency Teams.
- Participation in the Safety, Health and Environmental Internal and External Auditing Process.
- Utilize and support information on the Document Management Website.
- Attendance to mandatory corporate and local trainings.
Environmental Programs
Solid and Hazardous Waste Management
- Oversee characterization, labeling and storage of non-hazardous and hazard waste streams.
- Coordinate training and inspection programs to ensure compliance with Company policies.
- Ensure manifest files and records are maintained to regulatory requirements.
Storm Water Management
- Assist facility with compliance with regulations.
- Develop and maintain Best Management Practices and the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plans.
- Oversee facility inspections and maintain inspection records.
Environmental and Safety Inspections
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive inspection and audit program to evaluate facility conditions and maintain compliance with Company programs.
Operating Permits
- Maintain all required safety and environmental operating permits
Requirements/Preferences
High school diploma, further education preferred
Knowledge in the SHE field preferred
Administrative skills and organizational skills required
Public speaking skills required
Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
