SVP of Manufacturing Job Available in Berkshire County

Salary: $125k plus options/benefits


The SVP of Manufacturing will plan, direct, and coordinate product development and manufacturing/assembly. Experience setting up a brand-new manufacturing process, particularly for a small company, is vital.  SVP will oversee the internal operations to ensure processes are efficient, production quotas are achieved, and quality standards are met. The SVP’s focus to achieve the Company’s financial goals will be driven by maximizing the Company’s operating performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Director of Manufacturing oversees equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.
  • Directs and oversees an organization’s manufacturing/assembly processes.
  • Takes lead role in creating and implementing new manufacturing and facility processes for scale.
  • Oversees staffing, scheduling, and training for production.
  • Monitors and evaluates workflow and assembly methods and makes recommendations for process improvements.
  • Ensures manufacturing performance and quality goals are met.
  • Supervises manufacturing staff.
  • Prepares production, staff, and financial reports.
  • Reviews production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
  • Develops operations-related plans, capacity, budgets, infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains and strengthens supplier relationships, including contract/term sheet negotiation, updating, and changing as needed.
  • Identifies back up suppliers on key components.
  • Builds and maintains strong customer relationships.
  • Monitors all internal systems for accuracy and compliance with company rules, standards, expectations, and applicable laws.
  • Fosters strong relationships with all corporation functions to ensure collaborative and efficient execution of operations imperatives.
  • Works with Quality Manager to establish, maintain and ensure compliance with quality processes & tools to support operations team and ISO/AS requirements.
  • Will ensure facility maintenance and upgrades as identified. 
  • Must be able to interface with regulatory agencies for site audits.
  • Applies emotional intelligence in day to day and change management.
  • Must be able to work closely and communicate with other departments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or Associate’s degree with commensurate experience) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in management in manufacturing setting
  • Manufacturing experience with new process development and scaling, ideally with new businesses.
  • Strong proficiency with data, analysis, computers and Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Solid understanding of the Materials function (purchasing, planning/scheduling, MRP, Supplier management, etc.)
  • Experience putting together and establishing a new product line required
